Killaloe OPP investigate fatal collision on Round Lake Road

On Wednesday June 5, 2019 at approximately 5:00 p.m.,members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and two passenger cars on Round Lake Road, near Jack’s Lake, in the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the pickup truck travelling northbound on Round Lake Road struck two passengers cars that were travelling southbound on Round Lake Road. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger in the pickup truck, and the driver of one of the passenger cars were taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The name of the deceased has been withheld pending next of kin notification.

A portion of Round Lake Road from Doran Road to Red Rock Road has been closed while officers continue to investigate the collision. OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) have attended the scene and are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.

This is the second fatal collision investigated by the Killaloe OPP detachment in 2019. On Sunday May 26, 2019, Killaloe OPP investigated a fatal collision involving an all-terrain vehicle in the Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan.
