At the Council in Committee meeting on September 4, Madawaska Valley presented a cheque for $10,000 towards the Valley Manor Redevelopment project as agreed by MV Council. Present to accept the donation on behalf of Valley Manor were Board Chair Kathryn Marion and CEO Trisha Sammon. They were representing a delegation from the Manor and St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation, the fundraiser for the project. Mayor Kim Love said, “We are very pleased to contribute towards the Valley Manor Redevelopment and we’re really looking forward to the project getting off the ground as soon as you possibly can get it off the ground.” In thanking her Marion said, “The Council and yourself have been wonderful supporters of this project since the very beginning and we appreciate it very much. We look forward to your continued support.”
Mayor Love said, “I think that’s an excellent investment in our community because so many [members] of our community do end up with either loved ones or themselves in Valley Manor and it’s nice to know there’s a home to go to when you can finally no longer live in your own home. We certainly wish you all the best and really look forward to when you can finally give us a tour of the new facility.”
Marion agreed, “We can’t wait. We’re just hoping that this is going to happen sooner rather than later. And I really must say on behalf of the Board and the staff of Valley Manor we are really grateful for this. It comes as really a surprise because we didn’t expect this at this time, so it’s really wonderful to get your support and know you’re behind the project.”
Mayor Love responded, “Thank you for everything that you are doing to make this happen for our community.”
