A Community account has been opened at the Northern Credit Union in Barry’s Bay at 19630 Opeongo Line. Donations can be sent by e-transfer or dropping into the Northern Credit Union in Barry’s Bay and asking to make a deposit into the Visutskie fund.

Although their home was insured, all donations would help the Visutskie family get back on their feet quickly with the basic essentials needed for everyday living.


Best outdoor rink competition in western Ottawa Valley

If you’ve created an outdoor rink to use during these stay-at-home times, the Barry’s Bay Recreation Committee invites you to send a short video (max. 2 min.) to bbrcmail@gmail.com to say why YOUR outdoor rink is awesome. It doesn’t matter if your rink is in your backyard, on a cleared section of a lake, or in town – there are four categories to enter: NHL, most unusual theme, most Ottawa Valley, most Over-The-Top

Competition ends on Family Day, Feb.15. PRIZES will be awarded. Best Outdoor Rink competition is OPEN to residents of Madawaska Valley, Brudenell Lyndoch & Raglan, Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards, South Algonquin, and North Algona Wilberforce.

MV Township administrative services during stay-at-home

The MV township office is following Provincial Guidelines and is closed to the public. To speak to a staff member or to book an appointment please call 613-756-2747 or email staff between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays). Tax and water/wastewater payments can be made directly through your bank. For cheque payments, a drop box is available at the Municipal office to the left of the main door. Joyce Burkholder is exhibiting new multi-media paintings and Talli Chaimovitz is exhibiting her line of beautiful beeswax candles until Mar.8 at Madawaska Coffee Café, Opeongo Line, Barry’s Bay.


Going into Grade 9 at Madawaska Valley District High School?

Parents, guardians and Grade 8 students are invited to a virtual information event on Thursday, Jan.28 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The question and answer session will help prepare young people for the transition to Grade 9 at Madawaska Valley District High School (MVDHS).
