Library heats up during winter chill

Outdoors that polar vortex is creating plenty of chills. Indoors, though, things are heating up thanks to the Madawaska Valley Public Library in Barry’s Bay. Maybe you’re at home enjoying your borrowed book, e-book or DVD or maybe you’re visiting the Library to participate in an activity. Either way, this winter MV Public Library offers lots of activities for you to choose from.

Book Club

The book club for adults meets on the first Thursday of the month at the Library. Space is limited. Please inquire at the Library about joining.

Valentine’s Day

With February comes Valentine’s Day, the day when tradition calls for a celebration of love and relationships – not something that everyone is able to enjoy. If you’re going to be on your lonesome anyway, why not inject the element of surprise into your Valentine’s Day and sign up for a Blind Date with a Book (or DVD)! You’ll receive a mystery book (or DVD) to entertain you on Feb.14. An active library card is required to borrow books and DVDs. Registration is required, the program runs Feb.1-17.

On Saturday, Feb.11 at 10:30 am your kids can attend the Children’s Valentine Craft Hour at the Library and create their own heart-themed crafts.
