Attempted murder charge laid in Pembroke IPV incident

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual after a shooting incident in Pembroke.

On February 23, 2024, just before 6:30 a.m., OPP responded to an Intimate Parter Violence (IPV) incident involving a shooting at a residence on McKenzie Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of this incident a 67-year-old Pembroke resident has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offence:

ยท        Attempt to commit murder using a firearm

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice. He remains in custody with a future court date. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim as this is an IPV incident.
