Triple murderer Basil Borutski died of apparent natural causes at Millhaven Institution on Thursday, March 28th as confirmed by Correctional Service Canada in a media release distributed on April 2nd. The CSC release, “At the time of death, the inmate had been serving an indeterminate sentence, which commenced on December 6, 2017, for First and Second Degree Murders.” Above: Anastasia Kuzyk, Nathalie Warmerdam, Carol Culleton.
Borutski, from Wilno, was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering three women in the Ottawa Valley on September 22nd, 2015. Because of uncertainty about his whereabouts during his violent rampage, Madawaska Valley and other Ottawa Valley communities experienced several tense hours on lockdown until police apprehended the suspect. The events of that day were considered to be the worst incident of Intimate Partner Violence ever seen in Canada.
In 2017 he was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Anastasia Kuzyk and Nathalie Warmerdam, and one count of second-degree murder in the killing of Carol Culleton. The resulting focus on Intimate Partner Violence, particularly stemming from the 86 recommendations of the coroner at the Culleton, Kuzyk and Warmerdam Inquest in 2022 caused Renfrew County and other Ontario communities to declare an epidemic of Intimate Partner Violence. The CSC media release confirmed that the inmate’s next of kin were notified. It went on to say that, as in all cases involving the death of an inmate, CSC will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.

The population in Hell just be grew by one. Finally some element of Justice for these women and their families.
I would have preferred he stay in jail much, much longer….yes it’s a cost to the taxpayer, but what did that brute do to those 3 women….he should suffer in jail for a much longer time.
