In preparation for this year’s Remembrance Day, members of the Royal Canadian Legion Barry’s Bay Branch 406 have been active in drawing attention to those who have served in the armed forces. Not only can we appreciate the banners posted in the community, but the Legion’s social media has been filled with photos and reminiscences.
Remember MIA Aircrew with no known grave
In the lead-up to this year’s Remembrance Day, there will be a National Zoom Gathering – Remembering Canada’s WWII Missing in Action Aircrew with No Known Grave. This virtual gathering is not just for Legion members, RCAF and other veterans, but also for families, educators, historians and members of the public. Remembrance Day ceremony in Madawaska Valley
All Valley residents and visitors are invited to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony on Tuesday, Nov.11 at the Royal Canadian Legion Barry’s Bay Branch 406, 250 John Street, Barry’s Bay. The Legion requests that attendees gather at the cenotaph at 10:45am for the 11am ceremony. Serving members from the Royal Canadian Regiment in Petawawa will attend and stand vigil at the cenotaph. After the ceremony everyone is welcome in the Legion Hall for refreshments.
