The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 406 invites members of the community to join them on November 11 at 250 John Street, Barry’s Bay to honour those who have served. Branch President Heather Poliquin outlined the plans for Remembrance Day:
- The ceremony will be held outside
- The Legion requests that all spectators be in place by no later than 10:45 a.m.
- Most wreaths will be pre-positioned. A few will be placed during the ceremony, such as wreaths of the Silver Cross Mother (represented this year by Kathy Marion), the Wars, the Legion, Ladies’ Auxiliary, RCMP, etc.
- Following the outdoor commemoration, spectators who are fully vaccinated are invited indoors for a light lunch of chili, buns and squares, coffee, tea. The bar will be open.
The Barry’s Bay Legion will also hold Remembrance Day ceremonies at Valley Manor on Nov.9 and at Champlain Gardens on Nov.10.
