Barry’s Bay Vaccination Clinic reaches 5000 milestone

Greg McLeod, Chief Operating Officer at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, provided this statement on June 2:
The Barry’s Bay Vaccination Clinic has been proud to serve the community in our fight against Covid. Today we have achieved a milestone for the community. Marlene Hudder received the 5,000th vaccination provided at the Barry’s Bay clinic. The clinic has been in operation since the beginning of March and has evolved to be able to serve up to 400 vaccinations in a day. The clinic is provided through a partnership of the Renfrew County and District Health Unit, St. Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH), the Madawaska Valley Family Health Team (MVFHT) and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 406. McLeod said, “The vaccination clinic staff have truly exemplified commitment to the community by providing exemplary service. Some of the staff have returned to the workforce specifically to help this important endeavour. Our community’s response has shown how essential the local vaccination program is. The optimism at the clinic is felt by everyone. The staff are extremely proud to help in the efforts to return to normal.”
