On Friday, May 1, 2020, members of the Ontario Provincial Police, Renfrew County Crime Unit began an investigation into a sexual assault that had occurred at a residence in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 73-year-old from Madawaska Valley Township with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
- Sexual Assault
- Bestiality
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – three counts
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition – three counts
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Killaloe on August 12, 2020. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
