The field continues to widen in Madawaska Valley for this fall’s municipal and school board elections. As of 11:25 this morning, July 28, the contenders for the four MV Councillor posts now include Andrey Kaminski, who ran in 2018 for Council initially and then made a last-minute switch to a mayoral run. The declared Councillor candidates are:

- Carl Bromwich
- Andrey Kaminski
- Joseph Olsheski
- Ernie Peplinski
- David Shulist
Mark Willmer remains the only candidate who has filed nomination papers for Mayor of MV.
The School Board Trustee candidates for election are:
- David F. Kaiser (Public School Board – English)
- Colette Stitt (Public School Board – French)
- Susan Artymko, Mervin Paul Merkowsky, Rose Noonan (Catholic School Board – English)
