The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) have recovered the body of an Ajax, Ontario resident from Mink Lake.
On May 16, 2021 shortly after 6:30 p.m. members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an unoccupied boat circling on Mink Lake. The Bancroft OPP along with the OPP helicopter, OPP USRU and Hastings Highlands Fire Department were involved in the search.
Members of the OPP USRU recovered the body of 68 year old Gordon BLAIR late yesterday afternoon.
The office for the Chief Coroner of Ontario is leading the investigation with the assistance from the Bancroft OPP. A post mortem exam has been scheduled. Foul play is not suspected.
