Valley supermarkets and volunteers are rallying to help seniors (65+) with special hours and shopping assistance, according to statements posted on social media on March 17. If you, or someone you know, can benefit from these measures, please pass on the information — especially for those who do not have internet access.
Barry’s Bay Metro
The staff at your Metro store would like to thank you, our valued customers, for your continued support and patience during these uncertain times.
Effective immediately, we will be dedicating the hour of 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. for our seniors and those at risk to come in and shop. We are appealing to the good will of our customers to not start their shopping until after 9:00 a.m. and thank you for understanding.
Rest assured, we are doing our best to keep our shelves stocked as we are receiving different products daily.
We are certain that our customers will be mindful of any limits we have had to put on products so that everyone has equal opportunity to purchase them.
We are diligently working on keeping our store clean in an effort to provide a safe environment for everyone.
It is extremely important that we practice good social distancing not only for yourselves but for our staff as well.
Thank you, Neil, Connie, Gerard and Staff.

Yuill’s ValuMart
Derek Yuill says:
At ValuMart, we will be providing a senior shop (65+) between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. I would encourage all to respect those time lines to ensure safety for our elderly. I would encourage all to look after neighbours and use Paula Gulick’s volunteer service. VOLUNTEERS HELPING NEIGHBOURS 1-613-334-0542
