Killaloe OPP bulletins Mar.2-8

During the week of March 2 to March 8, 2020, there were 95 calls for service for the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including the Whitney Detachment.

  • There were fifteen motor vehicle collisions, of which seven were animal related.
  • There were two domestic disputes, none of which resulted in Criminal Code charges.

 

Collisions

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Killaloe OPP responded to a single vehicle collision involving a passenger car on Highway 28, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township. The driver struck several guard rails. As a result of police investigation, the 25-year-old driver from Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan Township, was charged with Suspended Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court. No tow was required.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Killaloe OPP responded to a three vehicle collision involving three passenger cars on Highway 60, Madawaska Valley Township. The passenger car travelling eastbound on Highway 60, lost control, and entered the oncoming lane, where it was struck by the westbound passenger car, and then struck by the third oncoming eastbound passenger car. A 75-year-old from Hastings Highlands, and a 20-year-old from Killaloe, Hagarty, and Richards Township were taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. All three passenger cars were towed. No charges were laid.

On Thursday, March 5, 2020, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Killaloe OPP responded to a two vehicle collision involving two passenger cars on John Street, Madawaska Valley Township. As a result of police investigation, a 72-year-old from Madawaska Valley Township was charged with Fail to Yield, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Both drivers were taken to hospital as a precaution. Both vehicles were towed.
