Tree of Lights surpasses goal

Submitted by St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

Thanks to the incredible support of the community, the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation is pleased to report that it has surpassed its Tree of Lights goal to raise $70,000 for local healthcare.

The 2020 campaign theme was Give the Gift of Healing, where funds raised went toward the purchase of critical medical equipment at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. This includes the purchase of a VAC Therapy System for wound healing, an upgrade to the medication dispensing unit, and the purchase of beside chairs/overbed tables for patient rooms.

“We are so grateful to everyone who made a contribution to the 2020 Tree of Lights Campaign,” Executive Director Erin Gienow said. “COVID-19 may have impacted the way we held our tree lighting event this year, but it certainly did not affect the generosity of our incredible community.  I am delighted to announce that we have raised an amazing $95,000 this past holiday season.  With no doubt, fundraising has been a challenge this past year.  As the needs of our healthcare partners are ongoing, we are extremely thankful by the level of support we have received from the community during the Tree of Lights Campaign and throughout 2020.”

As in previous years, the campaign included a direct mail component, where more than 2,500 pieces of mail were sent out to donors near and far. A virtual tree lighting ceremony was held on December 4 to complement the campaign, which aired on the Foundation’s Facebook page. The St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation raises funds for local healthcare partners including the Valley Manor, Madawaska Valley Hospice and St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
