Happy Family Day!
In its brief existence The Madawaska Valley Current has reached readers far beyond the Valley. Audience numbers have surpassed our expectations. Our website statistics show people accessing the Current from around the world during our first six weeks. Those online readers visited the Current in more than 7,000 sessions and viewed Current articles over 22,000 times since early January. Our local print distribution of 500 was soon consumed at several outlets. The Publishers thank you for reading the Current, both online and in print as we appreciate your help to keep the Current flowing so freely.
Our team
This early success results directly from the contributions of community residents who write articles and submit photos. There’s an enormous wealth of talent and diversity in the Valley. Our heartfelt thanks to all Current contributors and sponsors.
Mark Woermke’s latest Porch Views column about diversity and division in the Valley (click HERE to read) prompted a heartening response as online readers engaged in a spirited discussion about it. This shows the importance of the topic. We encourage you to think about how you coexist with your neighbours in this beautiful Valley. We are all so lucky to live here. Readers of the print Current are welcome to mail comments about Mark’s article to MadValley Media. We’ll be sure to pass them on.
Constant updates online
Because the Current is primarily an online publication, we upload stories when they happen. The monthly print version can provide only a selection of the online articles. It’s worth visiting our website madvalleycurrent.com regularly so you can check out the latest stories.
Community
The Current enthusiastically supports community growth and our local culture. The Community Links section of our website (click HERE to visit) provides online Current readers with information about Valley events and organizations, in cooperation with AlgonquinEast.com

Thanks Danielle. Just realized that you are the south of 60 curator from a few years back.
I appreciate you looking into and sharing what is happening in the area. Any hope for the Train Station?
Thanks for reading the Current and for taking the time to post a comment. We hope that this cultural asset will get back on track following the discussions between MV and the newly-formed MV Culture & Heritage Society.
