Pan Fantasy – known as the “Best Steelband in Canada” – will perform live at Zurakowski Park on Opeongo Line (Hwy 60) in Barry’s Bay this Sunday July 22 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Pan Fantasy were the Pan Alive Steelband Champions from 2011 through 2017.

Pan Fantasy is a community steelband formed more than 32 years ago in the Jane-Finch area of Toronto by a group of volunteers under the leadership of Wendy Jones. The band is still composed of community-minded volunteers who remain committed to engaging youth and helping youth to learn leadership skills through the performing arts. As mentors, the mature members play an important role in this process.

You can enjoy Sunday’s outdoor concert free of charge, as Pan Fantasy come to the Madawaska Valley through a long association with former MV mayor John Hildebrandt. Remember your sun hats, sun screen and sun umbrellas so you can enjoy some Caribbean culture this summer in downtown Barry’s Bay.
