Howe & Bradley Law Office

Robert Howe and Matt Bradley

Contrary to rumours which have been circulating in the community, local lawyer Robert B. Howe of Barry’s Bay is not retiring – not just yet anyway.

He said today,

I am pleased to announce that, in planning for retirement, I have entered into an association with Matthew J. Bradley, a prominent Pembroke lawyer who will, I am confident, ensure that the law practice which I have carried on in Barry’s Bay for forty years as of the upcoming Labour Day weekend will continue to provide this community with competent legal advice and service for the indefinite future.

He added,

I expect to continue to practice full-time until the end of 2019, and may remain available in a consulting role thereafter.

Matt Bradley currently practices with the firm of Huckabone, O’Brien, Instance, Bradley and Lyle in Pembroke, and previously practiced in Pembroke in association with his father, the late Henry J. Bradley QC. He has a seasonal residence on Round Lake and looks forward to spending more time in the southwestern end of the county.

Bradley said,

I am extremely pleased and looking forward to taking over Mr. Howe’s long-established and respected practice, and to delivering quality legal services for which there appears to be an increasing demand in the Barry’s Bay area. My practice and Mr. Howe’s are very similar and we anticipate a “good fit.”

I appreciate Mr. Howe’s willingness to continue as the primary practitioner. I will be in the office two days per week.

The new firm will be known as Howe & Bradley. The office location and contact information will remain unchanged.

The Barry’s Bay office will expand again when Messrs. Howe and Bradley are joined next year by Courtney Burnett, who is completing her service under articles and is expected to join the firm upon being called to the Bar of Ontario next June.

The pair have expanded the office staff and expect soon to add office space to serve what they anticipate will be a growing practice.

They share some interests, including keeping physically fit with running, exercising and golf.

But Matt is by far the better tennis player,

Howe quipped.

He told The Current,

It’ll be 40 years on Labour Day 2018 that I pulled up in Barry’s Bay. I always said I came to stay, and I’ve never regretted it.
