More than half of MV voters yet to vote

Township of Madawaska Valley CAO/Clerk Suzanne Klatt today advised The Current that as of close of business last Friday October 19, the Township has received votes from 2,607 voters. That number equates to only 46.55 percent of the MV electorate – with just one day left to vote. You can do this between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. tomorrow, Monday October 22, by delivering your vote in person to the Madawaska Valley Township office at 85 Bay Street, Barry’s Bay. If your Vote By Mail kit did not arrive, you can still vote. Just remember to bring ID with you to the municipal office.

As we previously reported, voter turnout in MV for the last election was 62.76 percent as compared to the provincial average of 43.12 percent. Does this indicate that many voters are leaving it to the last minute to make up their minds?

The Current will publish the final results on this website on Monday evening as soon as they are known. We will also publish any updates during the count as provided by Madawaska Valley Township.
