Poetry Place: Christmastime

A story of old

Many times it’s been told

May I tell it once again

To honour my Lord and King

On this special day

I would like to pay

Homage to His name

Worship Him with great acclaim

Born in a lowly manger

His only visitors strangers

His virgin mother amazed

To behold His holy face

Born without much ado

He came for me and you

To show us the love

Of our father up above

What greater gift could be

Than our eyes opening to see

Jesus is the real reason

We celebrate this season
