During the week of March 25 – March 31, 2019 there were 76 calls for service for the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including the Whitney Detachment.
- There were seven motor vehicle collisions, five were animal related.
- There were two domestic disputes and one domestic dispute which resulted in criminal code charges.
Domestic Mischief and Breach Charges
On Thursday March 28, 2019 at approximately 1: 55 p.m. members of the Killaloe OPP Detachment responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Madawaska Valley Township. As a result of police investigation a 41-year-old female from Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township was arrested and charged with Domestic Mischief x 2 and Breach of Probation order conditions, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Tuesday April 16, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Collision
On Saturday March 30, 2019 at approximately 7:10 p.m. Killaloe OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a van on Combermere Road, Madawaska Valley Township. The 62-year-old female driver from Madawaska Valley Township was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed.
Suspended Driving Charges
On Friday March 29, 2019 at approximately 5: 35 p.m. Killaloe OPP conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car on Paugh Lake Road, Madawaska Valley Township. As a result of police investigation, the 37-year-old male driver, Anthony WIERZBICKI of Madawaska Valley Township was charged with Suspended Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court.
