OPP Killaloe report week of April 8 to 14

During the week of April 8 – April 14, 2019 there were 68 calls for service for the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including the Whitney Detachment.

  • There were ten motor vehicle collisions, five were animal related.
  • There were four domestic disputes, with one of the domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.

 

Domestic Mischief Charge

On Thursday April 11, 2019 at approximately 9: 00 p.m. members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Township. As a result of police investigation a 39 year old female from Nepean was arrested and charged with Domestic Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday April 24, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

 

Suspended Driving Charge, Warrant Execution

On Saturday April 13, 2019 at approximately 8: 00 p.m. members of the Killaloe OPP detachment conducted a traffic stop for speeding on a passenger car on Round Lake Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Township. As a result of police investigation, 57 year old Dennis LEBLANC of Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Township was arrested on an outstanding warrant and further charged with Driving While Suspended, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court.

 

Collision

On Wednesday April 10, 2019, at approximately 3:30 p.m. members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to a two vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a passenger car on Highway 60 and Crooked Rapids Road, North Algona Wilberforce Township. The 53 year old driver of the SUV from Combermere, Kimberley SCHROEDER was charged with Follow Too Closely, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. The 52 year old female driver of the passenger car from Bonnechere Valley Township was treated by ambulance and released at the scene. No tow required.
