It was a full house at The Homestead on Wolf Ridge when 42 golfers supported the Lady Griffins’ first fundraising event. The Griffins aim to offset the cost of the team going to the Kashubian homeland in Europe in 2020. Because the initiative is driven by culture and education, it was fitting to hold the event on August 18, Kashubian Flag Day, so that they could proudly celebrate in Canada at the same time as those in the homeland. The Lady Griffins hockey team hopes to represent all Kashubian Canadians as ambassadors while in the homeland.
The winners of the Kashubian Flagstick Golf tournament:
- Couples Division: Brenda and Allan Mullin
- Male Division: Bruce Sullivan and Allan Coulas
- Female Division: Gale Yantha and Mary Blank

There was an exciting moment when Richard Shulist (above) made a hole in one. He said that he will never forget this Kashubian Flag Day and will treasure the moment forever. Shulist is the coach of the Men’s Kashubian Griffins Hockey Team and went to Kashubia Europe with his team in 2014.
The Lady Griffins plan to host more fundraising events soon.
