OPP Killaloe news at August 26

During the week of August 19 – August 25, 2019 there were 117 calls for service for the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including the Whitney Detachment.

  • There were nine motor vehicle collisions, two were animal related.
  • There were six domestic disputes which did not result in criminal charges.

 

Breach of Conditions Charges

On Monday August 19, 2019 at approximately 7: 50 p.m., Killaloe OPP responded to a breach of court ordered conditions call for service on Landsdown Avenue, South Algonquin Township. As a result of police investigation, 30-year-old Lawrence OBRIEN of Carlow-Mayo Township was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance conditions contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.

 

Impaired Driving Charges

On Friday August 23, 2019 at approximately 4: 10 p.m. Killaloe OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Opeongo Line, Madawaska Valley Township. As a result of police investigation, a 61-year-old female resident of Madawaska Valley Township was arrested and charged with Fail or Refusal to Provide Breath Sample, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday October 9, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The licence was seized and suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
