OPP Killaloe investigate sudden death in Madawaska Valley

On Monday September 2, 2019 at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a missing elderly female on Waxwing Lane, in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

A short time later, police, with the assistance of the Madawaska Valley Fire Department and Renfrew County Paramedics, located a body that was found floating off of the shoreline of Hyde’s Bay, on the Madawaska River.

The deceased has been identified as 78-year-old Irena MICHALSKA of Ottawa. The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Renfrew County Crime Unit are continuing to investigate. A post mortem has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.  Police deem the death as non -suspicious at this time.
