Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has released its Annual Report 2018 which provides a summary of activities, achievements and information about the work RCDHU has undertaken over the course of the 2018 year. The report includes information about programs and services, as well as the planning and advocacy work that often goes unnoticed. It also contains a helpful breakdown of how RCDHU is funded.
Two reports released from the RCDHU are discussed:
- Renfrew County Youth Needs Assessment report Walking in a Good Way: The Path to a Youth Engagement Strategy. This first-hand experience of youth living in Renfrew County will help inform efforts to engage youth here.
- Health Inequities in Renfrew County and District illustrates the impact to health and life expectancy because of living circumstances, including income, education, employment and social support.
As part of the Ontario Public Health Standards, health units are required to produce an annual financial and performance report to the communities they serve. This public reporting of each health unit’s activities aims to ensure transparency and accountability.
