On Wednesday June 5, 2019 at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and two passenger cars on Round Lake Road, near Jack’s Lake, in the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards.
Investigation revealed that the pickup truck travelling northbound on Round Lake Road struck two passengers cars that were travelling southbound on Round Lake Road. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 42-year-old driver of the pickup truck from Laurentian Valley, along with the 43-year-old passenger in the pickup truck from Pembroke and the 55-year-old driver of one of the passenger cars from Round Lake, were taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
The deceased was identified as 54-year-old Randy NEFF of Golden Lake. As a result of this investigation police have charged 43-year-old William WAGNER of Laurentian Valley Township with Careless Driving Cause Death, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court on December 19, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., Killaloe.
