Indoor market season gets underway at Opeongo Senior Centre

The Opeongo Senior Centre in Barry’s Bay hosted the first indoor market of this year’s cold season on November 2. Vendors filled the main floor space and overflowed into the basement where shoppers could enjoy a delicious lunch of hearty chilli with home-baked rolls for just $5. On offer throughout the Centre were all kinds of hand-made crafts, baking and home-cooking, art works and more. The Opeongo Seniors had received such good feedback from their 2018 indoor market that they made this, their second market, an even bigger event. This market begins a busy season for winter/Christmas market vendors in the Valley, so there’s no excuse not to shop local this year. Pictured above are vendors Margie McFadden and Patricia McLee.

Some of the goods on offer (clockwise from top left): Jacqui’s Valley Treats, Carol Anne Loiselle of Skulls Beyond Ashes, Loreen Walker with fabric sculptures, Nicole Aubé’s Tickled Tastebuds jellies, quilted table mats and linens by Carol Peplinski, a view of the main floor market.
