Renfrew County pursues twinning with Renfrewshire, Scotland

Renfrewshire in Scotland last month notified County staff that they are willing to entertain talks to develop a formal twinning arrangement. A number of links between the two regions have been developed since Renfrew County’s Expo 150 celebrations in June 2011 which included as special guests the Renfrewshire Provost and a Councillor. At a meeting in late October Renfrew County Council directed staff to work with Renfrewshire Council on a twinning agreement including potential impacts to the budget. The economic development staff in both regions say that twinning brings many community benefits and allows businesses, schools and cultural assets to create relationships.
