During the weeks of December 16, 2019 to January 1, 2020, there were 262 calls for service for the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including the Whitney Detachment.
- There were twenty three motor vehicle collisions, fifteen were animal related.
- There were four domestic disputes, and no domestic disputes that resulted in criminal code charges.
Drug Charges
On Monday December 16, 2019 at approximately 2:50 p.m., Killaloe OPP conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Township. As a result of police investigation, 57-year-old Dennis LEBLANC of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Township, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule l Substance, x3, and Possession of a Schedule lll Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The passenger, 40-year-old Margaret LAVALLEE of Bonnechere Valley Township, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance x3 and Possession of a Schedule lll Substance, contrary the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. Both accused were released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday January 15, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.
Festive RIDE Campaign Results
The Killaloe OPP participated in the FESTIVE RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Campaign which began on November 23, 2019 and concluded on January 2, 2020. The Killaloe OPP report the following campaign results:
- 4 Impaired Driving Criminal Code Charges
- 239 RIDE checks conducted
