Two charged in ATV theft

During the week of January 20 – January 26, 2020, there were 90 calls for service for the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including the Whitney Detachment.

  • There were twenty-four motor vehicle collisions, of which fifteen were animal related.
  • There were eight domestic disputes, one of which resulted in Criminal Code charges.

 

Domestic Mischief Charge

On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at approximately 6:25 a.m., members of the Killaloe OPP responded to a domestic related incident at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Township. As a result of police investigation, a 43 year old from Bonnechere Valley Township was arrested and charged with Domestic Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date of Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

 

Collision

On Saturday, January 25, 2020, at approximately 11:25 a.m., members of the Killaloe OPP responded to a single vehicle collision involving a snowmobile on Mundt Lane, Bonnechere Valley Township. The 55-year-old operator from Pembroke was travelling on Golden Lake and struck a pressure crack on the ice surface. The operator was uninjured. The snow machine received extensive damages.

 

Two charged in ATV theft

On Monday, January 13, 2020, at approximately 7:25 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the theft of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) which was stolen from a residence on Walker Street in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged 32-year-old Clarissa GRUNTZ of South Algonquin Township with Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code, and 30-year-old Lyndon PAUZE of Madawaska Valley Township with Theft Over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. Both accused were released on an Undertaking and will appear in court on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 9:30 a.m., Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.

 

Theft

On Friday, January 24, 2020, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Killaloe OPP responded to a report of a theft on Skead Road, Madawaska Valley Township. Landscaping materials had been stolen from a property development site. This incident remains under investigation.
