Looking for Hallowe’en fun this weekend? Look no further, there’s lots to be had right here in the Valley, and the organizers have made sure the treats are COVID-safe for your kids. Remember, no crowding!
Family Hallowe’en Hunt
Sat. Oct.31 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Madawaska Valley Public Library, 19474 Opeongo Line, Barry’s Bay
Families are encouraged to wear their Hallowe’en costumes and pick up a “Haunted Walk Map” at the Library. The Map has questions for kids to answer about Hallowe’en themed cutouts in the windows of participating businesses in Barry’s Bay. When you’ve completed your walk, come back to the Library to collect your treat bag.
BOO candy bags

Opeongo Seniors Centre, 19 Stafford Street, Barry’s Bay
Kids can collect “BOO” bags of candy at the front entrance of Opeongo Seniors Centre.
Trunk or Treat!

Family Life Christian Centre will hand out treat bags in the Car Park of the Barry’s Bay Legion Branch 406, 250 John Street, Barry’s Bay
Bring your kids wearing their costumes.
Spooktacular Hallowe’en Hike
Sat. Oct.31 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sandhill Drive, Barry’s Bay
Barry’s Bay Recreation Committee and residents of Sandhill Drive decorate the street for Hallowe’en. Lots of photo opportunities! Treat bags will be handed out at the END of the hike. Physical distancing – no crowding – safety first.
Save the Jack-O’-Lanterns
Sun. Nov.1 During the day, drop-off your pumpkin/Jack-O’-Lantern at one of three locations, NO candles please. Remember to put the artists name & phone number in the drop box. Madawaska Valley Township staff will illuminate the Jack-O’-Lanterns with glow sticks at each of three locations:
- Barry’s Bay: Railway Station
- Combermere: Gazebo
- Wilno: Station Park
Drive-by to enjoy from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Three talented Jack-O’-Lantern artists will win a $25 gift certificate from local businesses at each of the three locations.
