Woman injured on Lakeshore Drive by fail-to-remain

Members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a Fail to Remain Motor Vehicle Collision after a woman was struck by a vehicle in the Barry’s Bay area of Madawaska Valley Township.

The incident was reported on December 3, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m. by the victim, who was already at a hospital. The 21 year old woman indicated to police that the incident happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Lakeshore Drive, just east of Stafford Street. 

The victim had been walking along the roadway when she was struck from behind. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and had made her own way to the hospital for treatment.

The vehicle is described as a blue or grey pick-up truck, with large tires and possibly over-sized mirrors. The truck will have had damage to its passenger’s side mirror.
