Week #46 winner Bradley Gilmour of Sault Ste. Marie won $7,972 and the Weekly Prize for Week #47 to be drawn on Thursday, Dec.17 is estimated at $7,185. Should the Ace of Spades be found, Total Winnings will be around $219,471.00! All proceeds support Valley Manor Redevelopment. At last week’s draw, it was announced that the lottery has so far contributed $310,000 towards the project.

Santa at the Station
Kids can enjoy a (COVID-safe) visit with Santa at the Barry’s Bay Railway Station this Friday, Dec.18 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. There will be a special Post Box so you can mail your letters to the North Pole. Thanks to generous local sponsorship there are treat bags for the kids.

Last Legion Pancake Breakfast of 2020
That’s right, you can top off the year with the December all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast at the Royal Canadian Legion Barry’s Bay Branch 406, 250 John Street, Barry’s Bay next Sunday between 8 a.m. and noon. Adults $12, kids $6, (under 6 free). Social distancing regulations in place. Masks must be worn when entering the Legion, in the food line, and when getting up to leave your table. All food will be served to guests, including coffee, tea, fruit salad.
Barry’s Bay Stationary Christmas Parade
Barry’s Bay and Area Recreation Committee hosts a COVID-safe drive-through Christmas Parade next Sunday, Dec.20 at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre parking lot, 55 Arena Road, Barry’s Bay. Admission is free, Odd Man Out will be performing, and float entries will be accepted up to parade day at bbrcmail@gmail.com if you’d like to help create the fun.

MV Active Transport ad hoc Committee seeks volunteers
As reported by Councillor David Shulist at a recent MV Council meeting, the township seeks volunteers to serve on an ad hoc Active Transportation Advisory Committee. “Active transportation” refers to human-powered transport, the most common forms being walking and cycling.
