January is Stalking Awareness Month

The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County (WSACRC) advises:  According to statistics published by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 76 percent of women murdered by an intimate partner were stalked first, while 85 percent of women who survived murder attempts were stalked. Additionally, 89 percent of femicide victims who had been physically assaulted before their murder were stalked in the last year prior to their murder. If you need to talk, someone at WSACRC is available to talk to you 24/7. Call 1-800-663-3060
