According to local media reports, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has invited residents of the Madawaska and Ottawa river systems to participate in a live telephone town hall session on Tuesday, March 23. The calls to discuss OPG’s local hydroelectric operations are scheduled for:
- Ottawa River from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Madawaska River from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Residents who live along the river and have a landline may receive a telephone call at the relevant time with an option inviting them to participate. Anyone who does not receive a call or does not have a landline may participate by calling toll-free 1-877-229-8493 and enter the code 114208.
OPG held its first telephone town hall for the region in 2020. Officials shared their opinions about snow levels and the likely spring freshet, after which a question and answer session allowed residents to question the OPG representatives.
