Sarah and Neil Wright, founders and owners of Madawaska Coffee Inc. are pleased to announce the opening of a new café location. Madawaska Coffee Co. was established in 2011 and started out as a hobby coffee roasting business on the banks of the Madawaska River in Palmer Rapids. It has since grown into a full-time coffee roasting production facility located in Barry’s Bay. After running an extremely successful Espresso Bar, situated in the entrance of the Barry’s Bay roasting facility, it was an easy decision to open their first café location at 19578 Opeongo Line when the opportunity presented itself in 2019.

“Opening a café in Barry’s Bay has created such a warm welcoming community hub; a place where people can relax, spend time with friends and family and of course enjoy delicious speciality food and beverages,” said owners Neil and Sarah. They look forward to creating a similar atmosphere at 20 Pembroke St.

Over the years many different business have called this location home, Café Au Lait, Janna’s Gallery Café and most recently Blendz Smoothie Shop. Dale Lynn Luckey, owner of Blendz Smoothie Shop and current occupant of the space has enjoyed great success at 20 Pembroke St and her time being part of the Downtown Pembroke community. Dale was super excited to hear that Madawaska Coffee Co. would be taking on the space to open a new café location.

Janna Churchill Fortin, owner and operator of Janna & Kerry’s Over Easy Bar & Grill and longtime supporter of Madawaska Coffee Co. says “this is exactly what downtown Pembroke needs” and was excited to hear that Madawaska Coffee Co. would be opening their new location in the space that use to be Janna’s Gallery Café.

The Madawaska Coffee Co. Pembroke location will offer artisan sandwiches, homestyle soups, delectable fresh-baked treats and of course a full offering of handcrafted coffee beverages. The official grand opening is scheduled for the Canada Day Long weekend.

Sarah, Neil and their staff look forward to being a vibrant part of the community and welcoming many new and old friends to join them at the opening.
