Madawaska Valley imposes Total Fire Ban

The Township of Madawaska Valley advises that due to the extremely dry conditions, a Total Fire Ban is now in effect in the municipality. This means no open flames of any sort are allowed, including:

  • no campfires
  • no charcoal barbecues
  • no burning of brush
  • no fireworks

During a Total Fire Ban, no burn permits will be issued.

Everyone has a responsibility to help prevent fires by observing the Total Fire Ban. Please stay aware of the current fire ban status. MV Fire Chief posts fire ban levels on the municipal website www.madawaskavalley.ca and on Facebook/ Madawaska Valley, as well as on the many roadside Fire Ban signs throughout the municipality.

If your home or cottage is in another municipality, you must ensure you are always aware of the current fire ban status. For example, as of June 7 there is also a Total Fire Ban in Brudenell Lyndoch & Raglan, but not in the municipalities of Hastings Highlands, Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards, North Algona Wilberforce or South Algonquin.
