Valley Manor temporarily suspends visits as of July 25

The following announcement was received from Valley Manor CEO Trisha DesLaurier on July 24:

Please be advised that due to the current situation in Barry’s Bay related to the COVID-19 outbreak, Valley Manor will be suspending visitors from entering the building or having any residents leave the building until the situation is under control. This will begin on Sunday, July 25th.

This was a very tough but necessary decision made in collaboration with Dr. Rob Cushman, Acting Medical
Officer of Health, Renfrew County and District, for the safety of all of the residents and staff.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.

So disappointing that my Wednesday visit with my 90 year old Father will be cancelled because of those disrespectful people can’t follow the rules.

This is Not the First Time. Action must be taken against the rule breakers.

This is, for us, the ‘final straw’! Now our seniors have to be denied visitors because of the thoughtless and ignorant acts of irresponsible people.
Surely it is time for consequences! Can someone in authority – Dr Cushman? Mayor Love? – act decisively on behalf of the citizens of Madawaska Valley Township to put an end to this reckless behaviour which is so damaging to struggling businesses, our Stone fence Theatre group and now our senior residence(s)?
