Snap federal election called for Sept.20

This morning’s news from Ottawa confirms that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called a snap election in hopes of attracting enough voters to give the Liberals a majority government. Governor General Mary Simon approved his request that she dissolved parliament at a meeting at Rideau Hall today. Media reports indicate that Trudeau, like several provincial governments, hopes to capitalize on his government’s pandemic performance.

Canadians will go to the polls on Monday, September 20, 2021.
