MV appeals Court decision and rejects yet another invitation to mediate

On Aug.17 The Current reported the decision of Superior Court of Ontario Justice Doyle which dismissed MV’s motion to strike out The Current’s owners’ legal claim. Wishart Law have now served a Notice of Appeal of that decision which, significantly, will likely have the effect of delaying the final disposition of the claim until after the 2022 municipal election. In view of the Judge’s comments about potential awards of damages, the Defendants through Wisharts were again invited to attend a mediation in order to avoid further substantial legal fees, but the invitation was ignored.
