Dress Purple Day is Oct.27

The Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies advises that every October, Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign. The campaign is more important than ever, since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases has increased risk for the well-being and safety of children and youth.

This year, Dress Purple Day will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. For more details, please visit oacas.org/DressPurpleDay

Trunk or Treat is back this Hallowe’en!

Family Life Christian Centre reminds you that Trunk or Treat is almost here. At their first ever Trunk or Treat last year, we had 16 vehicles and 100 bags per vehicle totalling 1,600 candy bags! We were out of candy in 45 minutes. This year they have doubled the bags to 200 candy bags per vehicle to ensure there are lots for all the little Trick or Treaters. FLCC is very excited to see everyone’s costumes and invites you to stop by the Barry’s Bay Legion Car Park on Sunday, Oct.31 between 5 pm and 7 pm. (Poster below)
