Killaloe OPP locate human remains in house fire

On Sunday October 31, 2021, at approximately 9:20 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), assisted by North Algona Wilberforce Fire Department, and Renfrew County Ambulance, responded to a house fire on Quade Lane, in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.

The remains of one body has been located at the scene, which has yet to be identified. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office, the Office of the Chief Coroner, a Forensic Anthropologist, the OPP Forensic Identification Services, and the Renfrew County Crime Unit are continuing with the investigation.

The cause of the fire is deemed to be non-suspicious at this time. Anyone with information surrounding this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or the Killaloe OPP detachment.
