Five charged with multiple offences following break and enter to MV business

On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at approximately 4:05 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter in progress at an electrical business on Highway 60, in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and occupants associated to the break and enter by Killaloe OPP Uniform members, which resulted in two persons being taken into custody. OPP Killaloe uniform members then requested the aid and subject matter expertise of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), who then became engaged to assist in the investigation.

Subsequent to police investigation, the CSCU, assisted by the Renfrew County Crime Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence in the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards, which resulted in the arrest of several persons, multiple criminal charges laid, and the location of drugs and recovery of stolen property.

As a result of this coordinated investigation, the following five persons were arrested, and the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs And Substances Act (CDSA) charges were laid:

22 year old Michaelle ALLAN -SHAFFER of Killaloe:

  • Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 – 6 counts:
  • Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000;
  • Theft Over $5000 — 2 counts;
  • Break And Enter;
  • Possession of Break In Instruments;
  • Proceeds of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000;
  • Fail To Comply With Undertaking Conditions; and,
  • Possession Of A Schedule l Substance, Opioid CDSA.

30 year old Tyler STEPHENS of Oshawa:

  • Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 – 6 counts;
  • Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Over$5000;
  • Proceeds Of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000;
  • Theft Over $5000 – 2 counts;
  • Theft Under $5000;
  • Fail To Comply With Probation Order Conditions;
  • Break And Enter;
  • Fail To Comply With Release Order, Fail To Attend Court;
  • Possession Of Break In Instruments; and,
  • Possession Of Schedule l Substance – 2 counts.

ALLAN-SHAFFER and STEPHENS were held pending a bail court hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Killaloe, and remain in custody.

42 year old Jonathon KOHL of Killaloe:

  • Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 – 6 counts; and,
  • Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000.

41 year old Jaclyn SHAFFER of Killaloe:

  • Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 – 6 counts;
  • Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000; and,
  • Possession Of Schedule l Substance (CDSA).

39 year old Joseph VOLDOCK of Killaloe:

  • Possession Of Schedule l Substance CDSA.

KOHL, SHAFFER and VOLDOCK were released on conditions, and are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.
