Domestic incidents result in charges
Police have laid several criminal domestic charges after responding to multiple domestic incidents over the last week.
On November 23, 2022, members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to breach of conditions call for service at a residence in the Township of Bonnechere Valley. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 37-year-old from Bonnechere Valley Township with the following Criminal Code offences:
- failure to comply with release conditions (six counts); and,
- domestic mischief under $5000.
The accused attended bail court and remains in custody.
On November 26, 2022, members of the Killaloe Detachment responded to an assault call for service at a residence in the Township of Madawaska Valley. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 34-year-old from Madawaska Valley with the following Criminal Code offences:
- domestic assault (2 counts); and,
- domestic mischief under $5000.
The accused was released with conditions.
November 27, 2022, members of the Killaloe Detachment responded to an assault call for service at a residence in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 33-year-old from Bonnechere Valley Township with the following Criminal Code offences:
- domestic assault; and,
- careless storage of a firearm.
The accused was released on conditions.
On November 27, 2022, members of the Killaloe Detachment responded to an assault call for service at a residence in the Township of Madawaska Valley. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 55-year-old from Madawaska Valley with the following Criminal Code offences:
- domestic assault.
- domestic utter threat; and,
- domestic mischief (2 counts)
The accused was released on conditions. The names of the accused persons will not be released to protect the identity of the victims. The accused will appear in court at later date.

MV resident charged with assault following family dispute
Police have charged one person with assault after responding to a family dispute call.
On November 24, 2022, members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a family dispute call at a residence in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 61-year-old from Madawaska Valley Township with the following Criminal Code offence:
- assault.
The accused was released on conditions and will appear in court on January 11, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name will not be released to protect the victim.

Police seek information about damage to storage units
Killaloe OPP is investigating a mischief to property incident involving storage units.
On November 22, 2022, shortly after 2:00 p.m., police responded to a mischief call involving damage to storage unit locks in the Township of Bonnechere Valley.
