Nathan Libby remembered by local community

Community members are showing their love and support for the family of Nathan Libby who drowned last Friday while fishing for ling on Bark Lake. Libby, aged 28, leaves his wife, Lindsay (nee Cybulskie), and 18-month old son, Jackson. Their second child is expected in October. OPP Bancroft Detachment released a brief report earlier this week confirming that the Underwater Search and Rescue Unit had recovered a body but did not identify Libby in the media release. Libby, who grew up in the Bancroft area, was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His wife and son now live in Hastings Highlands, but she is originally from Barry’s Bay. She has shared updated details of the visitation and memorial service for her late husband on Facebook. A moving tribute written by his father, as well as many photos and condolence messages posted on the memorial page of Neuman Family Funeral Home, reveal how hunting and fishing were a big part of Libby’s life.

Madawaska Valley resident and close friend Kassidy Kutchaw has organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist Lindsay Libby which, at the time of writing, has raised $116,255.
