Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Oppostion and Ontario NDP, will visit the riding on Monday, Aug.28. Visits are planned with local business owners, farmers, elected officials and local organizers, as well as tours of important local facilities are on the agenda. President of R-N-P NDP, Dez Bair-Patel, said, “This is an amazing opportunity to showcase what Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke has to offer.”


Madawaska Valley Canada Day fireworks set for Sept.2

Due to the total fire ban during this summer’s Canada Day long weekend, MV Township postponed their annual fireworks celebration to Saturday Sept.2 (rain date Sunday Sept.3). Say goodbye to summer with a bang at the public fireworks display at dusk on the shores of Kamaniskeg Lake in Barry’s Bay. Special thanks to the Madawaska Valley Fire Department staff and volunteers for ensuring the safety of this show.

Author Linda Hutsell-Manning’s writing career spans over forty years with writing published in a variety of genres including Novel, Short Fiction, Drama, Poetry, as well as teaching Creative Writing. She is currently working on a memoir An Occasional Chameleon, about her unorthodox childhood that began in 1940’s rural Charleswood, MB.
