Lots to choose from in July at your public library

Below are just a few of the many activities that Madawaska Valley Public Library offers this month. For more details, please see the library brochure, check out their Facebook page, or visit the website.

On Wednesday, July 10, BIAK will be at the library at 10:30am for drumming and songs.

The Library will be at the Palmer Rapids Rec Centre on July 10 at 1:30 for stories, crafts and fun! Please register as there are limited spots left.

Every Thursday this month the Library celebrates a Community Star. Last week it was the turn of local artist Madeline, and on Thursday July 11 at 1:30pm Madawaska Valley Fire Chief Quade will be at the library. Dr. Ostapowicz will be the Star on July 18th and on July 25th it will be Coach Peplinski. Join in for some fun activities and games!

And on Saturday, July 13, sign up for some Saturday STEM learning at 11am at the library. Remember to register if you plan to attend.

Be a librarian for a half an hour! This is a chance for kids aged 7+ to learn the ins and outs of the library on July 17 and 24, Aug.7 and 21. Sign up at the library, call 613.756.2000, or you can also email programs@madawaskavalleylibrary.ca to register your slot.

The Library’s popular annual Stuffie Sleepover will take place on July 19th. Drop off your stuffies at the library between 1 and 4pm on July 19th, and collect them at a stuffie story time featuring a special guest at 11am on July 20th. Please pre-register.

For teens and pre-teens:

On selected Thursdays starting at 6pm the library hosts Teen Nights. Learn Fiero Code on July 11th and sew a scrunchie on July 25th. Please pre-register.

For adults:

July Artist of the Month is Sheila O’Brien, whose work is now on display in the library. Sheila will host an adult paint night July 22nd at 6pm at the Barry’s Bay arena. This is your opportunity to learn how to paint and have fun with friends! Please call the library at 613 756 2000 or email us at programs@madawaskavalleylibrary.ca to register.
