MV Library helps you start 2025 in style

One New Year’s Resolution well worth keeping is making more use of your Library. Madawaska Valley Public Library (MVPL) make this easy to do by offering a wide range of programs geared to all ages and interests in the community. For children

  • Every Wednesday morning at 10am (starting today, Jan.15th) your little ones can enjoy songs, stories and rhymes when the Toy Bus brings its Mother Goose program to the Library in Barry’s Bay.
  • Young creators will enjoy the Lego Club on Saturday, Jan.18th at 11am. Using bricks, participants will complete challenges, games and build skills.
  • On Friday, Jan.30th at 1:30pm the Library offers a craft session for kids off school for the PA Day. Please register so we have enough supplies and space for everyone by telephone 613-756-2000 or email programs@madawaskavalleylibrary.ca

For adults

Job Seekers between the ages of 16 and 65+ can get free assistance with preparation to achieve your employment goals. Everything from advice to help with resumes, including one-to-one interview practice. Contact Community Employment Services to make an appointment by telephone 613-628-1700 or email ces@algonquincollege.com . Drop-ins are also welcome. This month there are two pop-up sessions at the Library:

  • Thursday, Jan.16th from 1pm to 3pm
  • Thursday, Jan.30th from 1pm to 3pm

The next Craft & Chat (adults only) meets at the Library on Friday, Jan.24th at 10:30am when you can visaualize your goals for the year by creating your 2025 Vision Board. If you prefer, bring along your own craft project to work on while you socialize with like-minded crafters. Please register so we have enough supplies and space for everyone. Every Friday you can meet a walking group at 1pm for a stroll around the village, returning to the Library for a warm-up and hot drink.

Each month, the Library displays the work of a different local artist. When you visit the Library this month, you will see the acrylic paintings if animals and nature by artist Kelsey Fuller. You are invited to drop in and Meet the Artist on Saturday, Jan.25th at 1:30pm.
