Lively line-up this month at Madawaska Valley Public Library

Madawaska Valley Public Library offers a busy line-up of activities and events for you and your family members during February. First up, here are some of the options for children and parents, both at the Library and at home:

  • Your little ones will enjoy the Mother Goose program (brought to you in partnership with the Toy Bus) at the Library every Wednesday morning from 10am to 11am. Remaining dates this month: Feb.12, 19, 26
  • Young creators can challenge their buildings skills, play games and have fun at Lego Club on Saturday Feb.15th at 11am. The Club meets on the third Saturday of each month. Encourage your child to bring a friend!
  • MV Library offers FREE take-home Craft Kits and STEM Kits to keep kids busy at home. Enquire at the desk or phone 613-756-2000
  • This month the Library brings you an interactive workshop for parents. Stop Bullying will be held on Saturday, Feb.22 at 1pm. Whether your child is being bullied or is the bully, this presentation provides parents with strategies to reduce bullying. The interactive workshop includes a Question & Answer session. Light refreshments will be provided. Please register, drop-ins welcome.

The Library offers special programming for adults too:

  • Join the adult Walking Group every Friday at 1pm. After your ramble around the village, return to the Library for a warm-up drink and chat.
  • A new Learn to Sew program has begun at the Library this month. The remaining sessions will be held on Tuesday February 18th from 10am to 11am and on Thursday February 20th from 6pm to 7:30pm. The cost is $20 per session, including equipment and all supplies. Please register by telephone 613-756-2000 or by email to programs@madawaskavalleylibrary.ca
  • Artists and art lovers have not been forgotten. February’s Artist of the Month is Melody McLean. You can enjoy her display of paintings and felting by Amberwing Art Studio around the library all month, and meet the artist on February 27th at 6pm at the Library.
  • Artists interested in displaying their work should contact the library by phone at 613-756-2000 or by email to programs@madawaskavalleylibrary.ca
  • If you are an artist but feel that you haven’t got enough completed artwork of your own to fill the library, consider joining a group exhibition. Library staff are taking applications now for the month of April.
